The  4^th International Conference on Physics and Chemistry of Combustion and Processes in Extreme Environments (ComPhysChem’26) will take place in Samara, Russia on 30 June – 4 July, 2026.


In 2017, the Laboratory of Physics and Chemistry of Combustion was established at Samara National Research University with a megagrant from the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education to develop physically justified combustion models. Its key objectives include measuring kinetic constants for combustion and pollutant formation processes, and developing validated gas-dynamic and kinetic models. The laboratory has created a high-temperature microreactor with photoionization mass spectrometry, capable of distinguishing between chemical isomers. The laboratory also secured a major new project (2019-2021) for fundamental research in reaction kinetics related to combustion, astrochemistry, and astrobiology. A key partner is the Center for Laboratory Astrophysics, established by the Lebedev Physical Institute and the University of Hawaii under a megagrant to study the evolution of organic molecules in the interstellar medium.

To facilitate further development of the laboratories and to promote scientific exchange and collaboration between chemists and physicists studying combustion and other processes in extreme environments around the world, we launched a biannual ComPhysChem series of conferences, first of which was held in July of 2018, the second in July of 2022, the third – in July of 2024. The fourth meeting in this series will be held on 30 June - 4 July, 2026.  

All conference abstracts will be published in the Conference Proceedings.
